Noah

Who can describe the righteousness and obedience of Noah, who walked with God in a generation filled with corruption and violence? While the people of the earth turned away from the Lord, Noah found grace in His eyes. God saw him as a just man and chose him and his family to be saved from the great flood.

The Lord told Noah that He would bring a flood upon the earth because of its wickedness. He commanded him to build a great ark of gopher wood and to bring into it his wife, his sons Shem, Ham, and Japheth, their wives, and the animals according to God’s command. Although Noah had not yet seen the flood, he believed the word of the Lord and “did according unto all that the Lord commanded him.” (Genesis 6:22)
